Mustard Seed

The parable of the mustard seed talks about how a tiny seed can grow into a large and nourishing plant:

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches."

Luke 13:18-19

In the same way, a small donation to LCMI’s Mustard Seed program can help a child grow into a strong and healthy member of God’s family. Mustard Seed supports children who are in desperate financial need and provides them with the basic essentials that every child should have, including 3 meals a day and an opportunity to attend school.

The Mustard Seed program will not only benefit the children’s lives and help them to establish themselves but will also enable the children to be a blessing to their families and others.

For just $30 a month, you can act as a planter of mustard seeds which will grow into healthy and enthusiastically contributing members of God’s family who will, God willing, devote their lives to bringing the Gospel to others.

If you’re looking for a huge return on a small investment, sponsoring a child through the Mustard Seed program will surely deliver it.

  • How does the Mustard Seed program work?

A person considering sponsoring a Mustard Seed child must contact the LCMI office at with the desire to sponsor a child. The prospective donor then receives information about the program along with a profile of a child to support. Only LCMI campers are eligible for the Mustard Seed sponsorship program.

The donor then sets up their preferred payment method among the various available options (instructions below).

The supported camper is visited by the LCMI Mustard Seed staff in India three times a year to hand deliver the donor’s support and other grocery staples, and to have a time of prayer, devotion, and encouragement with the family.

After each visit the donor receives a letter from the sponsored camper, photos from the visit, and a report from the LCMI Mustard Seed staff in India including an update on the child, their family, and any prayer requests.

Mustard Seed support is given to a camper until they turn 18 years of age. This is done so that other children in need on the waiting list may receive support for basic education and nourishment. When a sponsored camper turns 18 years, their donor is given the option to continue supporting another Mustard Seed camper. Note: For children with special needs, their continued enrollment in the Mustard Seed program after 18 is assessed on a case-by-case basis as they may not be able to earn a living.
