Before the days of cell phones and GPS, we relied on paper maps to get from Point A to Point B. If roads had been added or closed since the map was printed, we often had to adjust on the fly—sometimes discovering that the back roads, though unplanned, led us to our destination more effectively than the main highway.
Similarly, in parts of Asia, traditional methods of sharing the Gospel are not always possible and can even be dangerous due to restrictions or persecution of Christians. These roadblocks require creative navigation. That’s why LCMI developed Creative Access Initiatives (CAI)—innovative approaches that allow us to share the love of Christ while meeting practical needs.
One such path is through our After-School Tutoring Centers, where children receive free academic support from qualified educators, a nutritious snack, and—most importantly—the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus. Our hope and prayer is that these young lives will be transformed by the Gospel, becoming lifelong followers of Christ. Just as Jesus welcomed the children and blessed them (Mark 10:13–16), we aim to point them to Him.
Another avenue is our Tailoring Centers, which equip women with sewing skills to support themselves and their families. In rural areas where jobs are scarce and life can be difficult, these centers provide both help and hope. More than a trade, women are being introduced to the Savior who sees and values them, just as Jesus honored the woman at the well (John 4) and gave her living water that changed her life forever. We praise God that many of these women are coming to faith in Christ!
Please pray for God’s protection and blessing on these two vital ministries.
Follow-Up and Ongoing Discipleship
At LCMI, one of our core values is building relationships. That’s why we make every effort to return twice a year to the areas where we’ve held mobile camps. These follow-up visits are eagerly anticipated by campers and provide invaluable opportunities for us to reconnect, ask about their spiritual growth, and encourage them in church attendance and personal faith. This model of ongoing care follows the example of the Apostle Paul, who frequently revisited churches and wrote letters to new believers to strengthen and guide them in their walk with Christ (Acts 15:36; Philippians 1:3–6). Gratefully, so far this year (April 2025), there have been 41 follow-up visits with 1496 campers who were encouraged in the Word. Praise Him!
Just as travelers in the past had to adjust their route to reach their destination, we too must adapt our methods to fulfill the Great Commission in places where obstacles stand in the way. Through Creative Access Initiatives, LCMI continues to navigate these challenges with grace and ingenuity. Whether through tutoring a child, teaching a trade, or returning to encourage a new believer, each step forward is guided by the ultimate goal: to make disciples of all nations and bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
