Mobilizer Training: Equipping Pastors For Gospel Impact

During our twenty years of Christian camping ministry in Asia, reaching children has remained our primary focus. A vital part of reaching children is discipling them and connecting them to biblically grounded churches. Along the way, the Lord opened our eyes to a pressing need—and, as He always does, He also provided the opportunity to help meet it.

A Need Among Faithful Shepherds

In many parts of Asia, pastors are faithfully shepherding congregations despite having little or no access to formal Bible training. Equipping these pastors is both a responsibility and a privilege. Second Timothy 2:2 reminds us that the truths entrusted to faithful men should be passed on to others who will also be able to teach. Without sound doctrine, pastors are vulnerable to error, and their congregations may be misled. Providing solid Bible training strengthens the church by enabling pastors to preach the Word accurately (2 Timothy 4:2), lead with wisdom, and disciple others effectively.

The Impact of Biblical Training

The fruit of this training is both immediate and eternal. As pastors grow in their understanding of God’s Word, their preaching becomes more biblically grounded, and their churches grow healthier. Our campers and their families directly benefit from this positive change, and its ripple effect can be seen in congregations growing in spiritual maturity—bearing a deeper witness to the transforming power of the gospel throughout their communities.

Why “Mobilizer” Training?

The term “mobilizer” is often used in a military context, referring to those who prepare others for active service. In Ephesians 6:12, we are reminded that our struggle is “against spiritual forces of evil,” so in that sense, mobilizer is a fitting term. These mobilizers—pastors and church leaders—encourage their congregants to serve the Lord in their daily lives. They also help coordinate the many moving parts of ministry by recruiting and organizing volunteers to serve at LCMI’s various camps. In addition, they invite and gather children from their communities to attend camp. This partnership is vital, as community members are best served by trusted individuals they know and respect. We are honored to work alongside the mobilizers God brings our way.

Looking Ahead: Opportunities for Prayer and Partnership

By God’s grace, 3 Mobilizer Training sessions are scheduled between April and July 2025. Please pray for our instructors and the pastors attending—that these gatherings will be refreshing times of learning and fellowship in the Word with like-minded believers. Also, pray that the Lord will bless their efforts as they seek to reach their communities across five different countries in Asia.
