What sets Christianity apart from all other religions is faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ—His death and resurrection for our substitutionary atonement—rather than in our own efforts or good works. This is not only good news, it is great news!
The Gospel is simply explained in these verses from the Bible.
Everyone has sinned.
...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
Sin separates us from God.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
God provides salvation through Jesus.
...but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
We are saved by faith in Christ.
...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’ (Romans 10:13).
God gives us peace and life in Him.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).
