Mustard Seed
Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a "Mustard Seed" (Lk 13:18-19),
which is planted in the ground and later it grows into a tree.
A mustard seed is the
smallest seed mentioned in the Bible and Jesus is not hesitant to
compare His Kingdom with the tiny seed. We see the vision of Jesus
Christ "a small mustard seed grew into a tree where birds of the air
perched in its branches."
The small sacrificial
contributions you make in faith in a child's life going to build the
child into a mustard tree. In due time these children will be able to
support others in the later stages of their lives.
 About Mustard Seed
Mustard Seed is a newer LCMI Sponsorship program which will provide
on-going monthly sponsorship for specific children LCMI has determined
to be in economically desperate situations. Over the past 5 years of
ministry in India, LCMI has been burdened by the economic situation
some of our campers come from. In response to repeated challenges by a
faithful partner to develop an on-going sponsorship program, Mustard
Seed was born.
Named Mustard Seed in
reference to Jesus’ teaching about His kingdom being like that of a
mustard seed is very small but grows into a large tree. This small
program can have a large impact in the lives of children AND their
families. In order to qualify for Mustard Seed sponsorship, a child
must have been a camper at an LCMI Camp Deccan or Mobile Camp and
whose family comes from an economically desperate situation. Your
sponsorship will provide for tuition costs so that the child can
attend school and also provide much needed food for the family.
